Did you know?

There is no minimum separation distance between wind turbines and homes in Scotland.
Scottish local authorities set their own guidelines for separation distances. In Aberdeenshire, the minimum separation distance is 400m or 10 x rotor diameters. In Fife, it is 2km. In the Highlands, it is 10 x rotor diameters. In Perth and Kinross, it is 20 x turbine height. Click here for more.

Concerned About Wind Turbines (CAWT) is a group of Aberdeenshire residents who are concerned about the rapid proliferation of onshore wind turbines in Aberdeenshire. CAWT and the CAWT website are managed part-time and on a voluntary basis.

The CAWT website collates much of the knowledge and experience gathered by many supporters over the last few years. The CAWT website also aims to highlight inaccuracies and false or dubious claims made by some wind energy developers, particularly in Aberdeenshire.
